History – need for establishing technological platform

To meet the goals of Lisbon Declaration, it is necessary to develop the European research area; and one of its elements are European technological platforms. Nowadays, there are 38 European technological platforms, five of which were established focusing on transport. ERTRAC (European Road Transport Research Advisory Council) is one of these. This European technological platform was followed by national technological platforms, which are in operation in Poland, Hungary, Slovenia, Austria, and others are to be established in other countries.

At the moment, three national technological platforms in the field of transport are in operation in the Czech Republic: TP Rail Infrastructure Interoperability, TP Aviation and Astronautics, and TP Vehicles for Sustainable Transport. Three more are related to transport – TP Czech Technology Platform for Biofuels in Transport and the Chemical Industry, Czech Hydrogen Technological Platform, and Czech Technological Platform Engineering.
